Our Archaeology. Our Coast. Our Heritage.
The Kru/Krao/Klao Coast Heritage Initiative aims to understand, document, record, and analyze the history of the Kru (Krao/Klao) people starting in Sinoe County, Republic of Liberia, West Africa. Our goals are to increase global awareness of this history, work with communities to document, preserve, and interpret local history, and pioneer archaeological studies of the Kru Coast region of West Africa, specifically southeastern Liberia. We do this through rigorous study of the Kru history using mixed methods from academic study to community activism. |
The part of our heritage that's important to me is our land where our people left us. Being part of the Krao tribe, I’m proud of that, because every human must have tribe or place they from.
Hon. Peter J. Nagbe, Popoh Mission Town, Sinoe County
